SONG REVIEW: MARRY ME (2010)

Written by Pat Monahan, Dave Katz and Sam Hollander

Performed by Train from the album “Save Me, San Francisco” (2009)

I first heard this wonderful song at the wedding reception of my colleague, Joanna, and instantly liked it. The perfect wedding song. “Marry Me”, captures all the love and emotion that goes through a man who meets and falls in love with the woman of his dreams. The song talks about love, being together and forever culminating in a marriage proposal “Marry Me.”

Released in October 2010, the song peaked at  #34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 in the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. In April 2011, the single topped 1,000,000 in digital downloads to make it a certified platinum single. It was also recorded as a duet by Train’s lead singer, Pat Monahan, and country icon Martina McBride for her “Eleven” album.
